What it is all about

In this blog, I'd like to publish trick, tips and hints related to the scripting/programming language Perl, which should not be confused with PEARL.

Although the origin of the name Perl are a more adventurous story, today most agree that Perl stands for Practical Extraction and Report Language, which summarises quite well what it does but hopelessly understates what's possible with it. Perl can be used for simple, shell-like programming and automation or for highly complicated tasks in information retrieval, bio-informatics and more.

The Camel is, since O'Reilly's books the official mascot and cpan the vast repository of helper modules written by contributing authors. Have fun!
